You really have to be on your toes to see the hand of Satan. He does not show up at your house in a red suit with a pitchfork. Satan and his insidious crew are such clever underground agents that they make it difficult for many of us, when we begin the Weigh Down Workshop, to believe that we even are overeating—until our eyes are opened to see how little food it takes to live. The main tool he can use on us is the lie. But look what damage it has done over the centuries, starting with Eve in the Garden. “ ‘You will not surely die,’ the serpent said to the woman. ‘For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil’ ” (Genesis 3:4,5). Or to paraphrase Satan—there is more . . . God is holding out on you—there is more!

Now you have most of the painted picture. We are at war. The battleground is located in the mind and heart. Our assignment is to put to death the deeds of the flesh and put in their place the precious, wonderful will of our Heavenly Father.
