Lifespan

Weigh Down Diet Book by Gwen Shamblin

During early Bible times, people often lived longer than today’s average of seventy-two to seventy-five years. And they lived this long without help from dietitians or current nutritional prompting. Take a look at this scripture referring to people who lived thousands of years ago. “Then the Lord said, ‘My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years’ ” (Genesis 6:3). God shortened the life span to 120 years. Please keep in mind that we are well aware that you could possibly play a part in shortening your life. For instance, you could try to commit suicide or indulge too heavily in tobacco, food, alcohol or drugs. But you have also heard of people who tried to commit suicide but whose efforts did not work. As you may know, overweight is the single most related factor to early death, even though we all know of exceptional cases of obese people, like the high priest Eli, who lived until they were ninety. God is in control.
