{"id":549106,"date":"2020-06-13T03:20:26","date_gmt":"2020-06-13T08:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/54.163.82.222\/?p=549106"},"modified":"2020-06-13T03:20:26","modified_gmt":"2020-06-13T08:20:26","slug":"a-covenant-offer-of-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gwenshamblinbooks.com\/?p=549106","title":{"rendered":"Let No Debt Remain but Love&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, \u201cDo not commit adultery,\u201d \u201cDo not murder,\u201d \u201cDo not steal,\u201d \u201cDo not covet,\u201d and whatever other commandments there may be, are summed up in this one rule: \u201cLove your neighbor as yourself.\u201d Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We need to praise God for His perfect templates for how to live and love\u2026namely prototypes of father to son, mother to children, children to parents, husband to wife, etc. In marriages, for example, God has the groom and bride exchange vows. This template is parallel to the vows offered on Mount Sinai to the children of Israel. Another word for these vows is\u2026\u201csacred covenant,\u201d a binding agreement or contract between two parties. It takes two parties to establish a contract\u2014one offers their heart and words, one responds with heart and words, and both respond with actions. In other words, a covenant between the couple is not just words on a sheet of paper but the actions to back it up, otherwise this offer could be cancelled or annulled. For example, if just one of the parties involved becomes unfaithful, the covenant is broken and thus the visual picture of Moses breaking the vows (the stone tablets) when God\u2019s loved ones turned to idols and away from Him.<\/p>\n<p>What are we going to do with this offer? What happens when we reject the ring and the offer to be married? What happens when we spurn God\u2019s Love?<\/p>\n<p>You are at a crossroads if you are not \u201cAll In\u201d nor ready to give your full time, attention, passion, strength, love and heart to the Creator. It is an abomination that man is more ready to commit to a mortal than to the Immortal\u2026the powerful, all-knowing God of the Universe! Why will someone exchange vows to a human and be faithful but not commit the same vows for a lifetime to God\u2014the only Being to whom you owe everything?<\/p>\n<p>Why does it seem like a lot for God to ask? Have we not all heard the expression\u2026\u201cI am trying to stop overeating, I am struggling to stop drinking too much, endeavoring to stop talk-ing too much, trying not to be prideful. I am attempting to be faithful to God, but it is so hard.\u201d Is it really too much to remain faithful to God but not to your wife? The world witnesses humans\u2014all the time\u2014who choose to stay married for a lifetime. However, \u201cyou are only human\u201d is \u201cthe out\u201d for the faithless generations. Each human can stay \u201cmarried\u201d in a covenant with God for a lifetime\u2026period. End of sentence. End of discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the fact that there is a dark force that is ever stalking the Seekers who are on the narrow path, why is there so much \u201ctry\u201d and not so much \u201cjust do it\u201d? The answer is\u2026a lack of continuous love. You can easily surrender and give and do for The Lord if you genuinely love Him first and foremost and above and beyond all others. The correct response to such an offer of life and eternal life is, \u201cYes, God, I will love You with all my heart\u201d as Moses and Jesus commanded.<\/p>\n<p>Again\u2026if you can submit to an earthly relationship for companionship, you can submit to God for a heavenly relationship that gives more dividends in return. God has been left out. How do you like sitting alone with no one who cares? God deserves more\u2026no, God deserves our all.<\/p>\n<p>It is time to make the right response and commit consistently without wavering. Again, let no debt remain except consistent love to God and man. Without the bride accepting the groom\u2019s proposal, there would be no relationship, no union. What fianc\u00e9 vacillates between lovers daily and expects to remain engaged?
