God never makes a move that is for Himself. This is incomprehensible and unfathomable love. God’s ways are not man’s ways. Every command has always been for us; it never benefited Him. That is all He was ever looking for. There is life and there is death; and obedience to God is pure life. God was only looking for that type of a situation. He was only looking for love.
