How to be the Salt in a Game
October 21, 2019How to be a Good Sport
October 23, 2019How do you make a game better? First of all, remember to pray! But after praying, there is one question you ask yourself every time: Would you want someone to do that to you? This will give you the answer to everything that you are supposed to do in every situation. Ask yourself: Do you want someone to bump you when they are playing soccer? No, so do not play too rough toward others. Do you want someone to scream loudly, “You are out!” when you probably already know that you are out? I know I would rather them say something like, “Good job! Okay, next person up!” Then the attention is off of you, and they have said something positive. Getting an out is hard enough, but hearing someone tell you “good job!” is so encouraging and makes the situation better because you do not feel so bad about yourself. In games, we know that we are all going to make mistakes and lose at times. It is something we all expect of ourselves and each other, so we do not want someone yelling out for everyone to hear, “Hey, you messed up!” and we definitely do not want to treat others that way.
Remember, it is just a game, and games are just a mirror image of what we are doing in life. We are always learning thru these games, and the way you behave now in the game is what you are going to be like at work when you are grown. If you keep up the bad attitude, you will likely not even be able to find a job. If you do manage to get a job and you still have a bad attitude whenever you mess up—being angry and blaming others—then you will not be able to keep that job. God is trying to teach us all how to have a good attitude when we make a mistake.
